Why bother with something not good just because its something.
Today’s #ootd back in the city after a few days secluded with a great group of girls in the country, kept it summery with floral j brands, denim button up, tangerine silk, black leather and a clean make up free face and hair washed from river water. The best feeling.

I got the chance to go home for a few days on vacation from work with my sister and a few of our girlfriends. It was amazing to just relax and drink, swim and soak up the sun. This was basically my outfit the entire time. Bikini light cottage layers. Green polka dots and frills, vintage Levis, oversize tank a clean face and a French braid. #ootd

Yesterdays #ootd. We had opening night of our Rent production last night! It was such a great performance. I decided to dress up a little, because who doesn’t love to do that!? I ended up wearing my American apparel figure skating dress with my Wilfred sheer black blouse and floral blazer layered on top of one another. To top it off I wore my brown leather braided belt, cat eye liner and bright pink lips. I felt so feminine in this outfit. Definitely a great outfit to celebrate in.

yours is the best I’ve ever had

I had a dream we were laying in a field of tall grass and wild flowers dreaming in each others eyes. It was wonderful.

yesterdays #ootd J Brand floral cropped skinny jeans and sheer black Wilfred blouse with rouge stained lips and the messiest of pony tails. These are probably the most comfortable jeans I have ever owned…I’m in love with them. They are fun and floral yet still understated and simple.

It hasn’t been that long, however knowing that we are together is an incredible feeling, one of the best that I have had in the longest time, I feel so excited, terrified, happy and comfortable all at the same time. The anticipation that I get to see you in a few hours is the best impatience.

The past few weeks I have been in the theatre non stop working away on my costumes. I have now moved my entire sewing table to the theatre and have been working from there. I can’t describe the love I feel for musical theatre and how much I desperately missed it all of the years I was away. I grew up in a theatre with my siblings and our closest friends, I can’t believe I have the opportunity in Toronto to be a costume designer at a reputable and successful theatre company. It’s not just about the music, the dancing or the drama of it all its about the feeling of the community and family we have built there, its my home away from home, its my family away from my blood line. I can’t wait to go into work everyday and do what I love with people who surround me there.

#ootd I went home recently to my parents house in the country and had the most wonderful time. Mind you I ran into some snags such as a small car accident and the accidental throwing out of my entire wardrobe. Yes my father accidentally threw out a huge bag of all of my special pieces I have been collecting since I was 16. Vintage pieces I have collected, pieces from my travels throughout the years, gifts and garments that have so many memories and nostalgic importance to me. But I guess every now and then its good to let go of the past and start fresh, or so I keep telling myself so that I don’t burst into tears at the thought of my lovely fabric identity with the worth of $4,000 torn apart and shredded at the dump covered in thrown away waste. My daddy felt so terrible that replacing my wardrobe was an automatic response. I bought a few vintage pieces to begin with and then made my way to Aritzia, which, lets be honest is where a lot of my wardrobe has always come from. This floral blazer is a new purchase that I just can’t get enough of…I’m so in love with how feminine it is yet in such a masculine form such a blazer. I wore it with a long sleeve sheer black top, my shiny American Apparel leggings and my thigh high faux leather boots. The spoon ring that I’m wearing is vintage and has come down in my family for quite some time, I’m lucky enough to be able to call it my own now, I wear it everyday.
